Blues midfielder determined to get his hands on a medal

Raul Meireles is looking forward to locking horns with former employers Liverpool in the FA Cup final, but admits his eyes are firmly on the prize. The Chelsea midfielder claims he took the decision to leave Anfield for Stamford Bridge last summer in an effort to feed his hunger for success. He feels he can fulfil his ambitions with the Blues, with the club one game away from glory in the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League. The first instalment of that double will be staged at Wembley on Saturday and Meireles is determined to get his hands on a medal and dash the dreams of a number of close friends. He told the FA Cup final matchday programme: "For me this is a really important game because it is a final and when I came to Chelsea, I wanted to win trophies. This is my chance to do that. "I love the supporters in Liverpool. They are enthusiastic about football and they are really amazing. It was my first club in England and I only have good things to say about Liverpool. "I have a lot of friends among the players and staff, but it's a big game and I want to win for Chelsea and the supporters here."
