Steve Kean expects to receive bids for his best players this summer as the Blackburn boss faces up to the prospect of relegation.
Rovers' demotion from the Premier League was confirmed on Monday after their 1-0 defeat against Wigan, but they will try and salvage some pride against Chelsea on Sunday.
Despite the failure, several players have enhanced their credentials this term, such as 17-goal striker Yakubu and starlet Junior Hoilett.
Yakubu is almost certain to attract bids along with goalkeeper Paul Robinson, while Hoilett is refusing to extend his contract that expires this summer.
Yet Kean, who seems in determined mood, is convinced he can hold onto his better players.
"We know there is going to be interest, as there always is at times like this when a team gets relegated," Kean said.
"You have other clubs that will try to pick off the best of your players. There is going to be that interest, but we are attempting to keep the majority of the squad together and build a squad that can bounce back."
Should the Rovers chief manage to convince his leading talents to remain at Ewood Park, he is aware that he will only have a limited amount of time in which to orchestrate an instant return.
"We know that we have to bounce back quickly like clubs have done in the past," he added.
"If you can keep the majority of your squad, you can probably only keep that for one or two seasons and if you don't get back up as quickly as possible, then your players are attracted to playing back at the highest level.
"We want to make sure it is us back playing at the highest level."
