Turner: Bowery is going nowhere

Chesterfield chief executive Chris Turner insists promising striker Jordan Bowery is not for sale.

A growing number of clubs are showing an interest in Bowery, who finished the season as the Spireites' top scorer with 12 goals. The 20-year-old has regularly been watched by scouts from Championship and Premier League clubs during the 2011/12 campaign. Turner said: "Jordan is a Chesterfield player and still has two years of his contract to run. "It is not surprising that he is starting to catch the eye as he is a talented player, which is the reason why the club rewarded his exciting development with a three-year deal only last year. "We are building for the future and do not have plans to sell our best players unless a silly offer comes along that seriously benefits both the player and the football club."
