Hartlepool's club skipper Ritchie Humphreys has agreed to sign a new contract with the club.

The 34-year-old still has a role to play in manager Neale Cooper's plans for next season and has agreed to extend his stay at Victoria Park. Humphreys made 19 starts for Pools last season and appeared as a substitute on 10 occasions, covering in both midfield and defence. The former Sheffield Wednesday striker, who joined Hartlepool in 2001, is the club's record appearance maker with 511 games and celebrated his testimonial season during 2010/11.
