Senegal international allowed to leave squad for talks

Sky Sports understands Wigan midfielder Mohamed Diame has been allowed to leave the Senegal squad to hold talks with a number of Premier League clubs over a potential move. It appears the 24-year-old, who is out of contract with the Latics, could be set to leave the DW Stadium on a free transfer this summer. A number of top-flight clubs are thought to be interested in the midfielder, who has impressed in a difficult campaign which saw Wigan narrowly sidestep relegation. Latics boss Roberto Martinez has been linked with the vacant managerial post at Liverpool and reports suggest the club are also keen to bring Diame to Merseyside. Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa are among the other clubs thought to be chasing the Senegal international, who joined Wigan from Rayo Vallecano in 2009.
