Lukaku - No trophy joy

Romelu Lukaku says he took no joy from Chelsea's Champions League and FA Cup double this season due to his limited opportunities at the club.

Belgian did not want to touch trophies

Chelsea teenager Romelu Lukaku says he took no joy from the club's UEFA Champions League and FA Cup double this season due to his limited opportunities at Stamford Bridge. The 19-year-old striker has made it clear he could seek a loan move away from the Premier League club next season if he is not included in their plans, having played a bit-part role under former boss Andre Villas-Boas and interim manager Roberto Di Matteo. Lukaku started only four games this term, coming off the bench on eight occasions and playing only a few minutes in the FA Cup, as a substitute in the third round against Portsmouth. The Belgian, who joined the Blues from Anderlecht last summer, says he felt no emotion when the club secured double success and did not even want to touch the silverware. He told Belgian newspaper De Standaard: "When [Salomon] Kalou put the Cup on my lap in the bus I asked him to take it away immediately. "I didn't want to touch it because, just as with the Champions League, I had no part in it at all," He added: "I don't like people talking to me about the Champions League. It wasn't me, but my team that won it."
