Yohan Cabaye has hailed the impact of Laurent Blanc for transforming France's fortunes since taking over as Les Bleus boss.
Blanc replaced Raymond Domenech at the helm two years ago after France's disastrous World Cup campaign in South Africa when they crashed out at the group stages.
The French squad found themselves in disarray in South Africa with the players refusing to train and revolting after Nicolas Anelka was sent home following a row with Domenech.
Blanc has helped unify the squad since the rebellion in South Africa, guiding France on an impressive 21-game unbeaten run ahead of Monday's Euro 2012 opener with England in Donetsk.
Newcastle ace Cabaye believes Blanc has instilled a club spirit in the French set-up and he knows they must fulfil their potential in Poland and Ukraine.
"He made us forget the last World Cup, which was a complete failure," said Cabaye.
Team spirit
"He has instilled a group mentality and team spirit like you find in a club side.
"You can see the change on the pitch. Now it's important to do ourselves justice during Euro 2012."
Cabaye, who is hoping to start against England, admits it will be a proud moment for him to play for his country in his first major tournament.
"I'm really proud to represent my country," added Cabaye.
"It's my first big tournament and a reflection on the season I've had with Newcastle."
