Gaston Ramirez is generating plenty of transfer speculation, but Bologna claim there is no guarantee that he will be sold this summer.

No bids as yet for highly-rated Uruguayan playmaker

Gaston Ramirez is generating plenty of transfer speculation, but Bologna claim there is no guarantee that he will be sold this summer. The Uruguay international has forged quite a reputation during his two years in Italy and is drawing admiring glances from some of Europe's top clubs. Premier League heavyweights Manchester City and Liverpool are reported to be keen on acquiring his services, while Inter Milan and Wolfsburg are also monitoring his situation closely. Bologna are aware of the mounting interest in their 21-year-old playmaker but claim to have received no official approach, and hope that will remain the case once the transfer window opens. "For the time being there is nothing new," sporting director Roberto Zanzi told tuttomercatoweb.com.

Contract

"We cannot forget that the player has a contract with us and we have a lot of faith in him. "Whoever wants him, will have to talk to us first." Ramirez joined Bologna from Penarol in 2010 and scored eight goals in 33 league appearances last season as they secured a ninth-place finish in Serie A. The South American is contracted to the Rossoblu until June 2016.
