Andriy Voronin has become the second player to quit the Ukraine national team in the aftermath of their elimination from Euro 2012.
The Dynamo Moscow striker will turn 33 next month and believes his retirement from the international stage will prolong his club career.
"I am leaving the Ukraine team. I took this decision in advance [of the Euros]," he told sport.ua website
"I have chosen to focus on my club career because I am not young enough to combine both roles."
The former Liverpool attacker can proudly look back on a career that gleaned 74 caps and eight goals for his country.
Voronin's decision follows hot on the heels of 35-year-old captain Andriy Shevchenko, who also announced he would step down from international football following Ukraine's failure to advance out of Group D.
