Iker Casillas claims Spain's desire to carry on gracing major finals burns as bright as ever, as they ready themselves for the defence of their European Championship crown.
The reigning champions will face Italy on Sunday for the right to be considered the best side on the continent.
Vicente del Bosque's side are fully aware of what it takes to prevail in such occasions, having made to the final of a third consecutive tournament.
They emerged victorious at Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup and are determined to etch their name into the history books among the all-time greats.
"We're fighting to go on reaching finals as we have done now," said national skipper Casillas.
"This team have come together through a lot of hard work and faced criticism.
"What we want is to give people something to enjoy.
"I don't care who we play in the final. The important thing is that Spain are there."
Luck
Spain booked their place in Sunday's showpiece after seeing off Iberian neighbours Portugal in a thrilling penalty shoot-out.
Casillas admits luck played a big part in their success, with Xabi Alonso having kicked things off by seeing his spot-kick saved.
"After starting by missing that penalty it was important to equalise, and we made it," said the Real Madrid goalkeeper.
"In the end we were lucky because penalty shoot-outs are actually about luck. We were rewarded after 120 minutes of suffering.
"A month ago I tasted the bitter side of a shoot-out (against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League), but now I'm happy to experience the other side.
"It's about guessing where the ball will go, not much more."
