Udinese have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Inter Milan over the transfer of goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.

Fee agreed with Udinese for Slovenia stopper

Udinese have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Inter Milan over the transfer of goalkeeper Samir Handanovic. The highly-rated Slovenia international enjoyed a fine season for the Bianconeri last season, establishing himself as one of the division's most consistent 'keepers. His performances helped Udinese to third place in Serie A and a spot in next season's Champions League qualifiers. Italian giants Inter have been consistently linked with a summer swoop for the 27-year-old, though Udinese have previously publicly declared their determination to keep the player. However, it has now emerged that the two clubs have come an agreement on a deal to take the former NK Domzale youngster to Giuseppe Meazza.

General agreement

The deal will also see Inter full-back Davide Faraoni move in the other direction. "There is a general agreement with Inter. Only the signing and the official news is missing," Udinese director Gino Pozzo told reporters. A move for Handanovic would immediately bring into question the future of current Inter No.1 Julio Cesar. When quizzed on the future of the Brazilian shot-stopper, Inter president Massimo Moratti remained coy, simply replying: "Let's see."
