Chelsea youngster sets sights on first-team breakthrough

Chelsea youngster Lucas Piazon says he is loving his time at the club and hopes to get the chance to play some first-team games this season. Piazon linked up with Chelsea last summer at the age of 17 after emerging as one of the most exciting young players in his native Brazil. He played a key role in the club's FA Youth Cup success and received high praise from former boss Andre Villas-Boas for the progress he made. The highly-rated forward is looking forward to continuing his development over the next 12 months and would like to make the breakthrough into Roberto Di Matteo's senior side. "I hope to be in the main group, train with them every day and if I have a chance to play some games," he told Sky Sports.

Adapting

Piazon is pleased with how quickly he has adjusted to life at Chelsea and has no regrets about making the move to Europe at such an early stage of his career. "No, I always dreamed of playing in Europe, mainly in England, so I'm very happy," he explained. "It is a very big challenge. I always dreamed of playing for Chelsea, so now I'm realising a dream. "It was a little strange adapting at first but now it is fine. I love London. It is very beautiful and interesting." Piazon recognises that it will be tough for Chelsea to emerge triumphant in the Premier League and he anticipates the usual challengers to be at the top of the table. "United, City and Arsenal are always the teams that give work to Chelsea," he said. "The Manchester teams are the past champions and Arsenal always come with a good team and playing beautiful football."
