Striker sidelined
Middlesbrough's plans for the new season have suffered a blow after they confirmed that striker Lukas Jutkiewicz will miss the start of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
The 23-year-old picked up the injury during pre-season and has already undergone an operation on the problem.
He is now expected to be out for around two months and will miss Boro's opening games of the new campaign.
"Lukas has had a clean-up operation on his cartilage," boss Tony Mowbray confirmed.
"He may miss the very start of the season but we would hope to have him available again soon after that."
