Nigeria international wants a swift conclusion to transfer saga

Everton defender Joseph Yobo has expressed his sadness at failing to secure a permanent transfer to Fenerbahce. The 31-year-old has spent the last two seasons on-loan with the Turkish giants, who are now at loggerheads with his parent club over his fee. Fenerbahce have offered 2.5 million euros (£2m) for his services, while the Toffees believe he is worth 3.5 million (£2.8m).

Situation

Yobo, a Nigeria international, is ready to return Istanbul for pre-season training but is desperate for his future to be resolved quickly. "Preparations began for the new season, but my condition is still not clear," he told the Liverpool Echo. "The club's (Fenerbahce's) silence makes me sad. This situation cannot continue like this."
