Reading and Sevilla battling for midfielder's signature

Lens are expecting Geoffrey Kondogbia's future to be resolved before the start of next week, with the midfielder understood to be a target for Reading. Sky Sports revealed earlier this week that Reading are leading the chase to sign Kondogbia, who has also been linked with a move to Spanish side Sevilla. The 19-year-old has previously been mooted as a target for the likes of Juventus, Everton and Newcastle, and looks set to leave Lens. Reports have claimed that a fee in the region of £4million will secure his signature and Lens sporting director Antoine Sibierski is expecting the matter to be resolved soon. Sibierski told L'Equipe: "It should be sorted out in 48 hours." Reading manager Brian McDermott has been one of the busiest managers in the transfer market during the summer following the club's promotion to the Premier League. McDermott has already brought in the likes of Pavel Pogrebnyak, Danny Guthrie and Chris Gunter as he tries to build a squad capable of staying in the top flight.
