Forward extends Valley stay until 2014

Striker Yann Kermorgant has pledged his long-term future to Charlton by signing a new contract. The French striker established himself as a firm favourite at The Valley following his arrival on a free transfer last summer, with 20 goals to help the Addicks to the League One title. Kermorgant, 30, will now remain in South East London until at least 2014, with the option of a further 12 months. "I'm really happy to sign a new contract at Charlton," he told the club's official website. "I've loved my time at the club and have already enjoyed some special moments here. "I look forward to playing back in the Championship and continuing to help this great club move forward." Addicks boss Chris Powell said: "I'm really happy that Yann has agreed a new deal. He was sensational last season. "He came in and made a mark not only with the players and in the team, but with the supporters as well. I know they already think he's a bit of a cult hero."
