Senegal international firmly in the plans of QPR management team

Queens Park Rangers owner Tony Fernandes has rubbished rumours linking Armand Traore with a move to Benfica. The 22-year-old joined the Hoops last summer from Arsenal following successive loans at Portsmouth and Juventus. Traore impressed during his maiden season in West London and made 23 appearances for QPR as they preserved their place in the Premier League. Rangers' flurry of transfer activity has led to speculation about the future of the left-back, but Fernandes insists the rumours have no substance. "I am not sure where these rumours are coming from," he posted on Twitter. "We are building a squad. Not selling. Armand Traore is a very important player to QPR."
