Sergio Busquets has insisted he feels fully prepared for the new season despite his exertions at the European Championship this summer.
The Barcelona defensive midfielder played a key role in Spain's Euro 2012 triumph, starting all six games as Vicente Del Bosque's side retained their crown.
The 24-year-old is now back in training as he begins to adjust to life under new coach Tito Vilanova following Pep Guardiola's exit.
But Busquets admits he has not noticed a significant change in the Barca set-up as they focus on building fitness ahead of a lengthy campaign.
He told the club's
official website: "Until now it is the same. We have had four days of training and for these days the physical trainers are the ones in charge.
"I think I am prepared. If I'm lucky with injuries and tiredness I hope to return to the same level this year."
Barcelona have been linked with a number of defensive players as the Catalan club seek to regain their Primera Liga crown and have another tilt at the UEFA Champions League.
And while that could mean more competition for La Masia graduate Busquets, he is unconcerned by the prospect of new arrivals.
"The coach and the technical secretary are those that evaluate the positions they want to reinforce," he added.
"If a player with similar characteristics to me arrives it will be for the best of the team. I will always try to win my place in the team and will train at my maximum to achieve it."
