Nigel Clough insists there is still time for Steve Davies to secure a move away from Derby County, despite no clubs yet meeting the striker's valuation.
Davies is on the transfer list at Pride Park after rejecting a new contract and he has not been involved in the Rams' pre-season programme to date.
Ipswich Town are interested in the forward, but manager Paul Jewell admits the two clubs' valuations are far apart, while Bristol City have also been linked with a bid.
Rams boss Clough does not feel the time has yet come to pull the plug on an exit for Davies and the former Tranmere Rovers youngster could feature in a friendly next week.
"Nobody has really met our valuation," said Clough in the Derby Evening Telegraph.
"There will come a point where we will have to draw a line under it and he will be involved with us until at least January but we haven't reached that point yet.
"If nothing has happened by early next week, we could see him play at Belper on Tuesday.
"Steven not being with us is not a punishment because he turned the offer down or because he has asked to leave. There is no question of anything like that.
"The transfer window is open for another four weeks, so there is still plenty of time for something to happen."
