Dickov denies Hughes interest

Boss Paul Dickov has quashed rumours Oldham are about to land Notts County striker Lee Hughes.

The former West Brom forward has been heavily linked with a move to Boundary Park this summer. But Dickov has insisted the 36-year-old is not on his radar and that reports of a rift between him and the directors over the deal were "ridiculous". "Lee Hughes has never been a target and what has been written is absolute rubbish," he told the club's official website. "(Chairman) Simon (Corney), the directors and myself have a fantastic working relationship and to say otherwise is ridiculous. "Everyone here at the club is pulling in the same direction and are all buying into what we are trying to achieve which is to move the club forward."
