After spending time out on loan both in England and Scotland, the 21-year-old midfielder finally made an impact at Molineux towards the end of the last unsuccessful Premier League season.
His opportunities have been limited this campaign in the Championship due to the form of captain Karl Henry and Tongo Doumbia.
"It's all about taking your chances when they come along," Davis told the club's official website. "When you've got Tongo playing so well and Karl doing so well the way we are playing at the moment there are only two places available.
"I've just to keep knuckling down and working hard to try and prove myself and work my way in.
"I'm still only 21 and so have got years ahead of me to try and force my way in but I'd obviously like to do it sooner rather than later.
"It's all about experience for myself and as well as playing I can learn from watching others in my position as well.
"You have to do that to learn, and almost watch the other positions as well because you can be asked to do a job somewhere.
"Those of us trying to get into the team have had the chance to impress during this international break and I've got to keep my form up in training.
"It's in my hands to try and convince the gaffer that I should get that spot and then take the opportunity if it comes along."
