Michael Carrick and Robin van Persie have made the six-man shortlist for the Player of the Year gong, while Danny Welbeck is in the running to land the Young Player of the Year prize.
All three have been integral to club and country in 2012/13, helping United to the top of the Premier League table and England and Holland towards the 2014 World Cup.
Ferguson feels it is about time that Carrick was recognised, with the midfielder among the most consistent, but under-rated performers, in the Premier League.
He said: "This has been Michael's best ever season at United. He's been absolutely magnificent.
"It's amazing Michael has had to wait until he's 31 to get nominated for anything - but he deserves it."
On Van Persie and Welbeck, who will be hoping to land personal accolades on 28th April, Ferguson added: "They deserve to be nominated, there's no doubt about that. And I obviously hope one of them wins.
"Robin has had a fantastic season - his goals emphasise the impact he has made at our club. Both of them deserve to be there and I hope one of them wins it.
"Danny has also shown some great performances this season for us and his country, and I'm delighted for him too."
