Howe to get spot-kick duties

Newport manager Justin Edinburgh has confirmed that defender Rene Howe will be the club's new penalty taker.

Robbie Willmott blazed his spot-kick over the bar as they drew 0-0 at Southend on Friday night just weeks after Andy Sandall's effort was saved against Northampton. And Edinburgh confirmed that Howe, a regular penalty taker during his Torquay days, will now take over penalty duties. "Robbie puts them in every day in training but we won't blame him," the Exiles boss told the South Wales Argus. "He stepped up but he missed the target. "I don't mind players wanting to take one. We don't want to go through the whole team but Rene will go on them now. It's his turn next."
