James Harper has left Torquay after the club were unable to agree terms with the former Hull man.
The 33-year-old midfielder had been training with the Gulls having left Doncaster back in January but manager Chris Hargreaves explained the club were not able to offer Harper a deal. "It was great to have James working with us - he's a good player and a brilliant lad - but it was just not financially possible to keep him," he told the Torquay Herald.
