Drogba was given a tremendous reception upon his return to London on Tuesday, as Chelsea eased past Galatasaray in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.
Drogba, who is out of contract with Gala in the summer, has been linked with a return to Chelsea as a coach in the future but even as a player come the end of the season.
"Of course I'd like to see Didier back as a coach or as a player," Lampard told the Evening Standard.
"The manager said before the game that you can't see him not being part of the club in some shape or form.
"It's up to him and the club, but he's always going to be regarded as a legend and held in the top bracket in this club.
"I'm sure if he can give something back, I'm sure Didier would love to."
Drogba was largely anonymous in the game, but Lampard insists that it was a big ask for him.
"It was probably a difficult game for him," he said.
"We controlled the game and he didn't get much service. I think it was hard for him, but he's still a massive threat with his power.
"Obviously we wanted to win the game, but we had a lot of respect for him coming back here and I was pleased with the reception he got."
