Micky Adams believes Port Vale's 3-2 pre-season win over Premier League West Brom is a timely morale booster ahead of the new season.
An own goal from Baggies defender Craig Dawson in the 85th minute handed Vale victory and manager Adams was happy with his team's performance. "It was certainly a morale booster, but you can get carried away with pre-season results," he told the official club website. "The one thing we got right here was our attitude to the game. "Although we have to remember there are no points on it, it shows me that we're there or thereabouts now."
