York v Doncaster preview

Image: Luke Summerfield: Could be handed his debut

Team news for Tuesday's Capital One Cup clash between York City and Doncaster Rovers at Bootham Crescent.

York's summer signing Luke Summerfield could be handed his competitive debut in the home Capital One Cup tie against Doncaster.

Former Shrewbury midfielder Summerfield missed the opening-day draw at Tranmere due to a knee injury but returned to training on Thursday and could feature.

Another summer capture, striker Jake Hyde, could also be in contention for his first appearance for the Minstermen. He sat it out on Saturday because of a knee problem.

Boss Nigel Worthington, who has no new selection worries, must decide whether to include Ben Hirst in his squad again after the 17-year-old made his debut at Tranmere as a second-half substitute.

Doncaster boss Paul Dickov will check on a handful of players ahead of the trip.

Defenders Reece Wabara and Rob Jones are both a bit stiff and sore after the weekend due to a lack of game time, with captain Jones having only recently returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a neck injury.

Forwards Harry Forrester (ankle) and Nathan Tyson are nursing knocks following Rovers' opening-day win at Yeovil.

Goalkeeper Jed Steer, on loan from Aston Villa, is eligible to play in the competition for Dickov's side.
