The Uruguayan Football Federation say they are frustrated by the outcome of the Luis Suarez appeal.
The Uruguay striker failed in his appeal to have a four-month playing ban overturned for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport did clear him to train and play friendlies with new club Barcelona.
Suarez was suspended from all football-related activity, including a nine-match suspension from international matches and a £66,000.
Uruguayan Football Federation lawyer Daniel Cravo told Sky Sports News HQ: “We are really frustrated – we understand that the behaviour of Luis Suarez in that match deserved to be punished but we don’t think that it was the worst behaviour of a player in a World Cup.
“There have been worse situations and the players were not sanctioned at this level but of course we respect CAS’ decision.
“We have to wait for the reasons and we are sorry for not having achieved what our client wanted from us. I don’t want to criticise the decision because I don’t know the grounds, that’s something we are interested in checking.”
Suarez will still miss Barcelona's first eight league matches of the new season, plus their first three group games in the Champions League. He could make his La Liga debut against Real Madrid on Sunday, October 26.
However, the former Liverpool striker could play for Barcelona in the the Joan Gamper Trophy, which is classed as a friendly, against Mexican side Leon Guanajuato on Monday, Live on Sky Sports 5.
