Schalke general manager Horst Heldt has confirmed full-back Christian Fuchs will not be leaving the Veltins Arena this summer.

Former Mainz defender Fuchs has attracted attention from a number of European clubs during the transfer window, but Heldt insists the 28-year-old will see out his contract with the Bundesliga side.

Fuchs’ current deal with Schalke runs until June 2015 and the highly-rated left-back has been linked with the likes of Serie A side Palermo and Premier League club Hull City in recent weeks.

However, Heldt has quashed all speculation of a move away from Germany in an interview with BILD.

“Christian Fuchs has a contract left at our club,” he insisted. “I can confirm Christian Fuchs will stay on at our club.”

Fuchs has chalked up 108 appearances during a three-year spell at the Veltins Arena, scoring five goals and providing 25 assists.

Austria international Fuchs has also featured in both of Schalke’s Bundesliga matches to date as they aim to improve on last season’s third-place finish.
