Luis Suarez opened his goal account in Barcelona colours during Barcelona B’s 6-0 victory against Indonesia U19s.

The former Liverpool striker played the full 90 minutes and was a constant presence throughout, scoring two goals.

Ex-Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen also made an appearance for the Catalan side’s B team and the 28-year-old managed to get his name on the scoresheet during his 60-minute cameo.

Suarez started the game, which was at Barcelona's training ground, brightly and won the corner that led to Vermaelen’s goal – the Belgian connecting with an Alen Halilovic corner to head home in the third minute.

The Uruguayan then netted his first goal after he latched onto a delicately chipped through ball from Halilovic, slotting the ball past the Indonesian goalkeeper into the bottom right-hand corner.

Then, in the 68th minute, Suarez bagged his second goal, shifting the ball onto his left foot before unleashing a fierce strike from 20 yards out into the left-hand corner, leaving the keeper with no chance.

Suarez still has to serve another month of his ban following the World Cup before he can make his debut for Barcelona’s senior side.

"Good game with Barca B, thanks to the team and the coach for the opportunity. Now to help my teammates," Suarez said via his official Twitter account after the game.
