Jose Mourinho would not be drawn on questions about Everton defender John Stones

Jose Mourinho played down his impressive personal record against Arsenal ahead of the Community Shield on Sunday and said he is focused only on winning with Chelsea.

The Portuguese has not lost in 13 matches as Blues manager against Arsene Wenger's Arsenal.

However, Mourinho refused to be drawn on his head-to-head stats with Wenger and said: "I just want my teams, my clubs to try to get the best possible results. That's the only thing that matters.

"Doesn't matter Arsenal, doesn't matter the manager. In football you can win or lose or draw. In this case you have to be ready for everything.

"I never made my victories over Arsenal an explosion of happiness or special pride. I will not make a drama if one day we lose.

"But we always try to play for a result and the Community Shield has a motivation, obviously different than just a friendly or just a summer tournament. I would say it's the start of the competition."

Sunday will see goalkeeper Petr Cech face his old club after he moved to Arsenal earlier this summer.

Cech left after 11 years at Stamford Bridge after falling behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order in a move sanctioned by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

Asked about the prospect of facing his former No 1, Mourinho said: "I did it already. Inter against Chelsea. No problem."

And he rejected suggestions that the Czech international has filled a problem position for Wenger’s team.

"I don't agree with you," he added. “I never felt weaknesses in their goalkeepers."

Asked for an update on his pursuit of Everton defender John Stones, Mourinho batted back several questions from journalists with a one-word answer... 'No'.

Chelsea have reportedly upped their initial bid of £20m to £25m but Mourinho said: "I don't speak about players from other clubs, especially now competition starts. It starts for us and Arsenal now and next week starts for everyone. It's enough for me."

The Chelsea boss did admit the club are trying to sign a left-back following Filipe Luis' return to Atletico Madrid but would not be drawn on a move for Ausberg's Baba Rahman.
