Ahead of Liverpool v Everton live on Sky Sports this Saturday, we've created a combined Merseyside XI based on the Sky Sports Power Rankings...

The Power Rankings methodology reflects a player's performance by awarding points to players for 32 different matchday stats.

DEFENCE

Both clubs have turned to their reserve goalkeepers this season, but it is Everton's Joel Robles who claims his place as the Merseyside No 1.

The Spaniard replaced an injured Maarten Stekelenburg during Everton's 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in December and has started every game for the Toffees since - keeping nine clean sheets and only conceding 10 goals from his 13 starts.

It's a 50/50 split of red and blue in the Merseyside XI back four, with Everton's Ashley Williams pairing Liverpool's Dejan Lovren in central defence.

James Milner claims a starting place in his adopted left-back role, with Seamus Coleman, who suffered a broken leg during Ireland's 0-0 draw with Wales on Friday, outperforming Liverpool's Nathaniel Clyne at right-back this season.

Ross Barkley is Everton's single representative in midfield, partnering Reds captain Jordan Henderson - who has returned to fitness after suffering a foot injury last month.

Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana occupy the wings, with Mane scoring the match-winning goal during the most recent Merseyside derby in December.

ATTACK

Unsurprisingly, Romelu Lukaku is the first Merseyside player to make the team sheet as the Premier League's top scorer on 21 goals and joins Liverpool's Roberto Firmino to lead the attack.
