The UEFA Champions League served up some majestic fare on Tuesday night and as ever, there were plenty of great goals to admire. Sky Sports has rounded up the best three and you can watch the videos, check out the Opta analysis and vote for your favourite.
GOAL A: Duvan ZAPATA, Marseille v NAPOLI
Duvan Zapata showed last night why he attracted attention from West Ham and QPR during the summer transfer window. After Jose Callejon had put Napoli 1-0 up in Marseille, £32m striker Gonzalo Higuain gave way to Zapata on 58 minutes, and the Colombian sealed the victory for the Azzurri just nine minutes later. Vice-captain Marek Hamsik's clever backheel gave Zapata the time to tee himself up and curl over a beautiful effort to leave Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda floundering. News of Zapata's goal will have infuriated Hammers manager Sam Allardyce, who was forced to pull out of a deal for the Colombian due to work permit issues. Despite Andre Ayew's late goal for Marseille, Napoli held on for a valuable three points meaning that they're tied on six points with rivals Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund in Group F.
GOAL B: Marcelo Diaz, Steaua Bucharest v FC BASEL
FC Basel's Marcelo Diaz is not a particularly prolific midfielder, but you'd be excused for thinking just that after his wonder strike at Steaua Bucharest. For the majority of the second half it had looked as though all three points were heading back to Switzerland, as a sloppy pass from Steaua left-back Latovlevici gifted possession to Basel striker Marco Streller. He laid the ball into Diaz's path, who curled the ball sumptuously into Ciprian Tatarusanu's goal. Basel had various chances throughout the game, most notably through a bizarre effort which saw Valentin Stocker's shot deflect off Lukasz Szukala's knee, spinning over Tatarusanu but crashing off the bar. The second half saw a wave of Steaua pressure and they eventually equalised through Tatu's 88th minute strike. The game will be remembered though for Diaz's superb goal and he will hope to make an even bigger impact for Chile in next year's World Cup in Brazil.
GOAL C: Diego COSTA, Austria Vienna v ATLETICO MADRID
Diego Costa's impressive run of form continued after he bagged a brace at Austria Vienna last night. His opening goal embodied a man with confidence in abundance. Costa picked up the ball just over the halfway line and his drive towards the box left Vienna captain Manuel Ortlechner for dead, before goalkeeper Heinz Lindner had no chance in keeping out his calm finish. Messrs Ronaldo and Messi are trailing the Atletico striker in La Liga's goal scoring charts, with the Brazilian scoring ten goals in nine games to help his side to eight victories from their first nine games. Linked heavily with Liverpool in the summer, Costa is at the centre of a tug-of-war between his native Brazil and Spain, where he has been playing since 2007. After last night's sensational solo goal, it's understandable why two huge footballing nations are pleading for him to lead their line.
