West Brom captain Darren Fletcher is not entertaining the thought of his side falling into a Premier League relegation battle.
Tony Pulis' men secured a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday night, when they edged past League One side Peterborough on penalties, but it is their league form that has been of great concern over the last three months.
West Brom have won only three of their last 15 games in the top division to slide to 14th place, only six points above Norwich who sit in the final relegation place.
But Fletcher says a 'glass half-full' fan could look at the table very differently, and he is backing the squad to pull away from the rest of the strugglers, starting with Saturday's trip to Everton.
"You can look at it both ways. We're only four or five points from pushing for seventh or eighth," said Fletcher, who scored with a beautiful volley to level the scores at 1-1 at the ABAX Stadium.
"At the same time, we're the same distance from the bottom three. We've got to stay positive, keep that level head and go again for a massive game at the weekend.
"It's a big factor in any team and we've got that in abundance. That's coming through now and we'll stick together.
"There are plenty more games to go and we're in a position where you look to the bottom but we're so many points from teams above us as well."
