Jurgen Klopp says it is extremely disappointing Liverpool did not leave White Hart Lane with all three points following their 1-1 draw

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was left frustrated after he saw his side concede a lead to draw 1-1 with Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Reds took the lead just before half-time after Erik Lamela tripped Roberto Firmino in the box and James Milner scored the resulting penalty.

But Danny Rose equalised for Spurs in the 72nd and neither side could find the breakthrough to take maximum points - leaving Klopp far from happy.

"Yes I am frustrated, of course. When you can win at Tottenham, you should win at Tottenham," the Liverpool boss told Sky Sports

"We could've won because we could now be here talking about the game, exactly the same game. One or two other decisions from a neutral person and we talk completely different, but it is the same game.

"Of course, it doesn't feel too good in the moment because it was a game we were close to winning. I think we would have deserved it but to have one point is better than nothing."

There were a number of flash-points throughout the fierce tie at White Hart Lane, including an early substitution for Spurs as Kyle Walker came down with an illness and a disallowed Liverpool goal for offside.

Klopp commented on both incidents and started to look forward to next weekend's international break when a number of his players will join up with their countries.

"We played really well against a strong side," he added.

"Tottenham had to change the plan - Walker couldn't play anymore - but Dier on full-back and then the long-balls which I think was a bit different to what they actually wanted to do so a deserved 1-0 and we made a 2-0, but it was really close.

"Now we have the international break and we can come back together really healthy and in the same shape like they leave us and then we have to carry on.

"Yes we should always have more chances, we should always be more clinical. I would like to stand here and have nine points, not four. I'm sorry if it doesn't feel like I should be really satisfied."
