After another busy weekend of Premier League action, Tony Cottee delivers his verdict on each team's performance...

Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley at Turf Moor but extended their gap at the top to 10 points after Liverpool beat Tottenham, while there were also wins for Manchester United and Arsenal over Watford and Hull respectively.

At the other end of the table, Sunderland stayed bottom after being thumped 4-0 by Southampton, but Swansea climbed away from the drop zone with a 2-0 win over struggling champions Leicester.

So who's top of the class? And who's being held back for detention? Premier League Daily guest Tony Cottee takes us through his weekend grades...

Premier League results

Arsenal 2-0 Hull Man Utd 2-0 Watford
Middlesbrough 0-0 Everton Stoke 1-0 Crystal Palace
Sunderland 0-4 Southampton West Ham 2-2 West Brom
Liverpool 2-0 Tottenham Burnley 1-1 Chelsea
Swansea 2-0 Leicester

Liverpool - A+

I looked at this game and was honestly expecting a Tottenham victory. Liverpool have been in such poor form and Spurs have been flying. Liverpool absolutely wiped them out and could have been 5-0 up at half-time. They outplayed Spurs in every department and it was the standout performance of the weekend.

Southampton - A

It was a brilliant performance. To go to Sunderland after some difficult recent results and with the EFL Cup final coming up it would be easy to be distracted. Credit to Claude Puel and everyone at the club.

Swansea - A-

A fantastic display, Swansea deserve great credit for how they've been since Paul Clement came in, they've given themselves a real chance of staying up. Leicester aren't playing well but you've still got to get the results.

Burnley - B+

To restrict Chelsea to no shots after their goal was fantastic and says everything you need to know about Burnley. It was a really good performance against a team who are flying, and it could have been even better with a little luck.

West Ham - B+

It would have been a bit better if they'd won the game, conceding in injury time. I don't think Slaven Bilic was too happy with the referee! But they've picked up and are on a decent run of form now.

Manchester United - B

They're grinding away and getting results. To be 16 games unbeaten in any league is a fantastic achievement, they're still not firing on all cylinders and aren't where they want to be, but they've gradually crept up and are now just a couple of points off second.

Stoke - B

They're always hard to beat at home, it's a good win for them and they could have scored a few more as well. Joe Allen got another goal and he is having an outstanding season in midfield.

Hull - B-

Hull were a little bit unlucky and had a couple of chances where Oumar Niasse could have scored, and it could have been so much better. Let's not forget the handball goal by Alexis Sanchez that put them behind, but they're still going the right way under Marco Silva.

West Brom - B-

Tony Pulis always makes his teams hard to beat and he'll look at that as a good point after equalising so late.

Middlesbrough - B-

It's hard to know where to start with Middlesbrough. They're having a nothing sort of season, always in the bottom half with no real outstanding displays or results and grinding away to stay up. But a point at home to Everton is still a decent result.

Everton - B-

It could have been a lot better if Romelu Lukaku had taken his chance, but it was a great save by Victor Valdes and another clean sheet for Ronald Koeman's side. They're moving up.

MIDDLESBROUGH, ENGLAND - FEBRUARY 11: Idrissa Gueye of Everton and Marten de Roon of Middlesbrough compete for the ball during the Premier League match bet

Arsenal - C

It was a bit of a flat performance from Arsenal. But the most important thing after the week they've had is getting a result, and in terms of that it was a great three points.

Chelsea - C

They've been really good all season and would have fancied their chances at Burnley. You could reflect and say it was a decent point for Chelsea, as there are a few teams that have been turned over at Turf Moor.

Watford - C

Watford are a frustrating team and seem to lack consistency. They had a fantastic performance at Arsenal and followed it up against Burnley, but they can't seem to string the results together and you never know what you're going to get. It could have been a lot worse than 2-0 at Old Trafford.

Crystal Palace - C-

I keep waiting for the result that will trigger a run for Palace, but the longer it goes on the longer you worry for them. Sam Allardyce needs to start working his magic, they're in the bottom three and don't look like getting out at the moment.

Tottenham - D

It was a really disappointing performance at Liverpool. They didn't turn up and never looked like they were going to score. They can't afford too many like that if they want to stay in the top four.

Leicester - D-

Leicester have got to get their act together, get some results and start scoring some goals. When they concede their heads go down and it's a really worry for my old team. They're heading towards the bottom three.

Sunderland - D-

I actually thought Sunderland would win this game after the Palace result last week. They were alright until the first goal but then never looked like getting back into it. They need to enjoy their break in New York and hope Jermain Defoe doesn't get injured going up the Statue of Liberty!
