Charlie Nicholas criticised Paul Pogba after Jose Mourinho revealed that he and Man Utd are very happy with the performances of their world record signing

Paul Pogba has been the subject of intense scrutiny since his £89m move to Manchester United from Juventus last summer and now Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has given his thoughts

Speaking on Soccer Saturday ahead of United's Sunday clash at Middlesbrough and following on from Jose Mourinho's claims that Pogba "doesn't give an ass" what people think of him, Nicholas said that he would not list the midfielder in a list of United's most influential players.

"With everybody else [bar Zlatan], he'll take an extra touch, two touches," said Nicholas.

"I studied him more closely in one game and that was against Southampton in the cup final and he was coming in and taking the ball off centre-backs - Southampton found it so easy against him."

He added that Mourinho "knows he's not getting the best" from Pogba, who has weighed in with just four goals and three assists in 25 Premier League appearances this campaign.
