Cristiano Ronaldo is interested in returning to Manchester United this summer, Sky sources understand, but what are foreign media saying?

The Real Madrid forward wants to leave Spain and a source close to the player says United are very close to his heart.

Here, we round up Monday's reports from both Spain and Portugal regarding the 32-year-old's future...

ONDA CERO

Spanish radio station Onda Cero say Paris Saint-Germain target Pepe has told Ronaldo that Real Madrid haven't treated him well and that the Portugal internationals should head to France together.

The pair are currently on international duty at the Confederations Cup, and defender Pepe has reportedly told Ronaldo that Real have leaked information about him.

Marca say Real Madrid will look to replace Ronaldo with Kylian Mbappe, who has reportedly said he will only leave Monaco for the Spanish side.

The 18-year-old is said to have met with Monaco owner and president Dmitri Rybolovlev in Mallorca and believes it is a matter of "Real Madrid or no one" regarding his future.

Real chiefs reportedly wanted to wait another year to monitor Mbappe's progress in Ligue 1, but a potential Ronaldo exit could bring that forward.

A BOLA

The Portuguese newspaper say Ronaldo prefers United as his next destination after deciding he is ready to leave Real Madrid.

They say the player has asked his agent to do "whatever it takes" to get him back to Manchester United and reunite him with Jose Mourinho.

CADENA COPE

The show 'Tiempo de Juego' on Spanish radio station Cadena COPE revealed that Ronaldo confirmed to Zinedine Zidane in a phone call his desire to leave Real Madrid and quit Spain this summer.

According to COPE, Ronaldo's motive is that "he feels he's treated like a delinquent, especially by the media."

The report states that possible destinations for the Portugal forward were not mentioned, with talks now parked until after the Confederations Cup.
