Eddie Niedzwiecki leaves Stoke following Paul Lambert arrival

Stoke have confirmed first-team coach Eddie Niedzwiecki has left the club following the arrival of Paul Lambert as manager.

Niedzwiecki took charge of the first team following the sacking of Mark Hughes, and was in the dugout for their 3-0 defeat to Manchester United on Monday.

A Stoke statement said: "Stoke City can confirm that Eddie Niedzwiecki has today left his role as first-team coach at the bet365 Stadium.

"The club would like to place on record their sincere thanks to Eddie for the professionalism he has shown, particularly last week when he took charge of first-team affairs while the managerial appointment process was ongoing.

Niedzwiecki is a long-time member of Hughes' backroom staff, and has worked with him at various clubs, including Manchester City.

In his first press conference as Stoke manager, on Tuesday, Lambert said he would be meeting with Niedzwiecki to discuss his future.
