Leicester have revealed that Robert Huth will depart the club at the end of the season.
Huth was an integral part of Leicester's 2015/16 Premier League title-winning side, starting all but three fixtures.
Injuries have prevented Huth from making an appearance for Claude Puel's side this season and the club have opted not to renew his contract, which expires this summer.
"It is a great shame that I have been unable to call on Robert's experience due to injury this season," Puel said.
"But he is a fantastic man and is always a positive influence on the squad and for this I am grateful.
"I would like to congratulate him on everything he has achieved as a Leicester City player."
The German defender joined on loan from Stoke in January 2015 with the Foxes rooted to the base of the Premier League table, and played a crucial role as Nigel Pearson's side narrowly avoided relegation.
Huth, who already had two Premier League winners' medals from his time with Chelsea, was signed permanently in the summer of 2015 and remained a key player as Claudio Ranieri took over and guided Leicester to miraculous title win.
The 33-year-old's European experience was crucial as Leicester reached the Champions League quarter-finals a season later.
However, foot and ankle injuries have limited Huth to one appearance for the Leicester U21 side this season.
Huth, who has made 93 appearances for Leicester, will be honoured before the Foxes' final home game of the season, against Arsenal on Wednesday evening.
