Spanish side eager to see Mexican youngster return

Arsenal starlet Carlos Vela is being targeted by Salamanca for a second loan stint with the Spanish side. The 19-year-old Mexico international has impressed in the Carling Cup this season, scoring four goals in three appearances, but he is yet to make a Premier League start for the Gunners. Vela went on loan to Salamanca during the 2006/07 season while Arsenal were waiting for a work permit. The gifted striker scored eight goals in 28 league starts for the second division outfit and, with Arsenal out of the Carling Cup, they are hoping to lure Vela back for the rest of the season.

Interest

"He is a player Salamanca are interested in," club chairman Juanjo Pascual told the Sunday Mirror. "Such a talented kid will always be warmly welcomed." Vela also went on loan to Spain last season with Osasuna, scoring three goals in 21 La Liga starts, before his work permit was granted ahead of the current campaign.
