Marlon King insists the turmoil in his private life will not have an adverse effect on his performances.
The striker, on loan at Hull City from Wigan, was arrested and released on bail last week for allegedly assaulting a 20-year-old woman in a London nightclub.
Despite having the issue occupying his mind heading into a weekend showdown with Liverpool, Tigers boss Phil Brown handed King a starting role in their impressive 2-2 draw at Anfield.
The Jamaica international had a hand in both of Hull's goals on Merseyside, and is adamant that any off-field problems he may encounter will not be allowed to shift his focus.
Unfazed
"It has not been difficult at all," King told the
Hull Daily Mail.
"Did it look like it was a difficult game out there for me? I just got on with my football.
"During the week, I just came in for training as normal.
"Things happen in life and you have to get on with it. And to come here and get a point, that is what it is all about."
Passionate
King admits that survival represented the height of the Tigers' expectations heading into the current campaign, but revealed those ambitions have now shifted in the wake of some spectacular results.
"We have not looked at the bottom three since the start of the season," he added.
"The gaffer is a passionate guy who loves his football and I am sure he wishes he could be out there in his kit. If you see him in training, he gets involved.
"It is great to see a manager with that enthusiasm. It is the sort of guy you want to play for."
