Jermaine Pennant's agent says the Liverpool winger will not move to another Premier League club in the transfer window.
Hull City are among teams interested in snapping up the former Arsenal wideman who has also been linked with a January move to Real Madrid.
But Pennant's representative Sky Andrew says his client is not interested in playing for any other top-flight side.
"Jermaine is still talking to Liverpool," Andrew told the Hull Daily Mail. "He does not want to play for another club in the Premier League and wants to stay with Liverpool."
Meanwhile, the Tigers are bracing themselves for the potential loss of defender Paul McShane.
McShane is currently on loan at the KC Stadium from Sunderland but a clause in the deal allows the Black Cats to call back the defender at any stage in January. Manager Ricky Sbragia has already hinted that McShane will return unless he can sign another defender.
But City chairman Paul Duffen says plans are in place to counteract the possible loan recall and insists the Tigers have other targets in place if needed.
"We have always known that there was a potential for Paul to be recalled but we have cover for that," Duffen said.
"Sunderland have been very transparent with us. But I don't want to be a hostage to fortune and predict what may or may not happen."
The Tigers have been dealt another blow with news defender Kamil Zayatte will miss the Arsenal game on Saturday through suspension.
The on-loan centre-back was booked during the defeat at Everton on Saturday, his fifth caution of the season.
