Youssouf Mulumbu admits it is a 'dream' to move to the Premier League after joining West Bromwich Albion on loan for the rest of the season.
The midfielder spoke to Paris St Germain team-mate Claude Makelele before accepting a switch to the Hawthorns and also discussed the move with DR Congo international colleagues Herita Ilunga and Tresor Lomana Lua Lua.
Mulumbu felt it was important to seek advice about joining the Baggies and is happy to have clinched a temporary move to Tony Mowbray's side.
"I talked about the Premier League with Makelele, who has a lot of experience of the Premier League," Mulumbu told the club's
official website.
"He told me the league is very quick, but he told me I could cope. It was very important for me to talk to him before I came here.
"I didn't know much about West Brom and I spoke to Marc-Antoine Fortune, Abdoulaye Meite and Filipe Teixeira. I've also spoken to my international team-mates Lua Lua and Ilunga.
"It's been very difficult getting things sorted out, but now I'm here I'm very, very happy. It's a dream for me to come to the Premier League."
Ready to fight
Baggies boss Mowbray recently suggested Mulumbu would not be pushing for an immediate first-team place, but the 22-year-old is hoping he can make an impact in the club's bid for Premier League survival.
He added: "I've played a lot of games for PSG, but this year Makelele and Clement has meant it has been difficult for me to play.
"I'm ready to fight for a place here. I need to learn and then I can play in the Premier League.
"Albion have a lot of good attacking players, but I feel I can bring something different in terms of midfield contact."
