Skysports.com understands Portsmouth defender Martin Cranie could be set for a loan move away from Fratton Park.
Cranie is well down the pecking order at Portsmouth and has made just two first-team appearances this season.
The England Under 21 international is keen to secure a temporary move away so that he can some regular action under his belt.
Pompey are thought to be willing to loan out Cranie to aid his bid for fitness and a number of Championship clubs have been alerted to his availability.
Charlton are believed to be leading the race to sign Cranie after the 22-year-old impressed at the Valley during a successful loan spell earlier this season.
