Heurelho Gomes has insisted that Tottenham are prepared for the tough tests that await them in their next two Premier League fixtures.
Having played several teams around them in the relegation battle over the past few weeks, picking up seven points against Hull City, Middlesbrough and Sunderland, they now face a very different examination.
Spurs travel to UEFA Champions League hopefuls Aston Villa on Saturday with rejuvenated Chelsea visiting White Hart Lane the week after.
Despite their poor form for much of the season Spurs have a decent record against top four sides this term having lost just once, at home to Villa back in September.
Spurs will need to draw on that record with the club just four points off the drop zone, but Gomes is confident his side can rise to the occasion.
"These are massive games and we play well on these occasions," he told the club's official website.
"You only have to look at our results this season. Villa are a great team, they are playing well but so are we at the moment."
Harry Redknapp's side will look to capitalise on Villa's shaky home form, with the club winning just five of their 14 league games at Villa Park, taking only 22 points from a possible 42.
Spurs' form on the road won't exactly fill their manager with confidence, with the club winning just three times away from White Hart Lane all season, but the former PSV stopper is adamant that lessons have been learned.
"We have learned some hard lessons," he added. "We lost four games in the final minutes and you work so hard, then you get hit so late. That's difficult to take.
"Things are much better now though. I believe in us and we are ready for this challenge."
