Bolton keeper sets target for next season

Jussi Jaaskelainen wants Bolton Wanderers to be challenging for a European place next season. The Trotters edged closer to securing their Premier League status at the weekend with a 4-1 win home win over troubled Middlesbrough. Jaaskelainen feels Bolton can end this campaign in the top half of the table and has his sights on a higher finish next term. "The pressure is enormous because it's such a massive thing to play in the Premier League," said the Finnish keeper in the Manchester Evening News.

Different pressure

"It's massive at the bottom and the top. But the pressure is different playing for Uefa Cup places than against relegation. "If we can finish ninth or 10th this season then we can build on that for next season. "And if we keep working hard we will get more wins than defeats between now and the end of the season. "We had some great opportunities in the last four games, but we played poorly at Stoke and against Fulham. "We performed better against West Brom and were unfortunate not to get all three points. And against Middlesbrough we showed what we can do. "Now, we want to push on for the top half of the table. We are only doing little things wrong. "We just need to keep more clean sheets because we will always have chances to score from set-plays."
