Midfielder set to miss rest of season

Tomas Rosicky's agent has confirmed the Arsenal midfielder is unlikely to feature this season. Rosicky has been a long-term casualty for the Gunners after suffering a tendon injury in January 2008 and has suffered several setbacks on his long-awaited return to first-team action. It was hoped that the Czech Republic international could return to action by the end of the current campaign, but it now appears very unlikely as Arsene Wenger signalled he does not want to risk further damage. Wenger purchased Andrey Arshavin in the winter transfer window and it seems the Gunners boss is happy to reserve Rosicky for next season. "The statement of Arsene Wenger has not surprised us," the midfielder's agent Pavel Paska told Deniksport. "The situation is that Tomas would be able to start in the last two fixtures if the intensity of training sessions was enormous, and it is not necessary to take this risk." Paska also claimed that Arsenal should expect Rosicky to have no more setbacks from his latest rehabilitation, adding: "This is the last delay. "Everything is heading in a way for Tomas to be prepared properly for the next season. It looks that, if he wants to reach this goal, he will not be having holidays this time as he will be preparing for the next season all summer."
