Everton manager David Moyes hopes for more of the same from Jo after re-signing the Brazilian striker on loan Manchester City.
The 22-year-old spent the second half of last season at Goodison Park after struggling to live up to the £18million price tag City had paid CSKA Moscow in July 2008.
Jo impressed with five goals in 12 Premier League appearances for the Toffees and the Merseyside outfit were keen to secure a permanent deal.
Everton could not afford City's valuation of the player and were forced to accept a season-long loan move.
But having again secured Jo's services Moyes hopes stability will prove key, telling evertontv: "In the six months he was with us from January, I thought he contributed and helped us.
"He's still young and getting used to the Premier League, so hopefully we can get the same return of goals which he showed in the period he was with us before.
"I think he had a difficult time at Manchester City - it's not easy settling into the Premier League, and we'll give him the opportunity to do that.
"Obviously because we have been able to get him for no money, and bring him on loan, makes him attractive to us.
"I know that he enjoyed his period here and I think because of that he's looking forward to another."
