Leeds denied by late penalty

Paul Gallagher's last-gasp penalty earned Blackburn a 1-1 draw with Leeds in their pre-season friendly at Elland Road. Jermaine Beckford's 50th minute strike looked like being enough for Simon Grayson's men until Gallagher scored from the spot in the final minute. Leeds came close to scoring after just eight minutes when Fabian Delph saw his shot clip the post after a powerful run from midfield. Former Leeds man Paul Robinson came to Blackburn's rescue on 49 minutes when he turned Robert Snodgrass' shot round the post. But from the resulting corner Leeds grabbed the lead when Luciano Becchio headed the ball on towards Beckford who produced a deft flick to send the ball into the net past Robinson. Blackburn won a penalty in the closing seconds when Alan Sheehan was adjudged to have fouled Benni McCarthy and Gallagher struck home the spot-kick.
